Hearing Aid Services
Evaluation for Hearing Aids
Think you might have trouble hearing? Let us perform a hearing screening to determine if hearing loss is present. We can evaluate the hearing ability of infants, children and adults. Our try before you buy program allows qualified individuals to wear hearing aids for a week before purchase.
Hearing Aid Dispensing and Fitting
Better hearing leads to improved communication. If your hearing evaluation indicates that wearing hearing aids will help you, we will discuss your lifestyle, cosmetic preferences and budget. You’ll then get professional guidance to choose the hearing aids that are right for you. A portion of every purchase goes to help underserved children and adults with speech/language or hearing problems.
Hearing Aid Repair and Maintenance
Service doesn’t end with your hearing aid dispensing. We are ready to help if you need hearing aid repairs. Many repairs can be done in the office and won’t require you to leave the hearing aid with us. If your hearing aids must be returned to the factory for repair, we’ll arrange for shipping and return to you. If you don’t think your hearing aids are working properly, stop in and see us. Regular maintenance and deep-cleaning will help your hearing aids perform at their peak. Bring your hearing aids in for regular cleaning every six months and protect your investment in hearing technology.
Industrial Hearing Testing
We tailor our services to meet each company's individual needs at a competitive price.
The Speech & Hearing Center has a thirty-foot mobile testing trailer unit with six individual testing booths that use Microlab microprocessor audiometers. It takes approximately 8-10 minutes per group, averaging 36 people per hour. We can test over 250 people in an eight hour shift, provided one group closely follows the other. Testing is performed using microprocessor audiometers by a CAOHC certified technician or a licensed audiologist.

Noise Surveys For OSHA
Surveys conducted by the Speech & Hearing Center identify those areas where noise exceeds the action level of 85 dBA, as defined by OSHA.
Pre-Employment Hearing Testing & On-Site Hearing Testing
Determining the effectiveness of any safety program requires accurate monitoring. The Speech & Hearing Center provides on-site hearing tests to help companies meet their audiometric testing obligations.
Re-Testing Available For STS’s
OSHA regulations, with regard to Standard Threshold Shifts state that, "the employer may obtain a re-test within 30 days and consider the results of the retest as the annual audiogram." Re-tests are offered as an added benefit to those companies being served by the Speech & Hearing Center.
Companies who conduct their own testing may utilize the Speech & Hearing Center to process their audiograms and deliver reports identical to those we would provide had we completed the testing ourselves.
Professional Consultation & Training
Professional consultation is offered to fully explain OSHA regulations and compliance relating to a company's workplace environment.
The Speech & Hearing Center utilizes the Windows version of Hear\Trak, proven to be the leader in record keeping, which strictly follows the guidelines set by OSHA regulations (Standards-29 CFR) for occupational noise exposure.
Other Audiology Services
Infants and Young Babies
According to the National Institutes of Health, 2 to 3 children out of 1,000 in the U.S. are born with a hearing impairment, making hearing loss the number one birth defect in America.
Any kind of early hearing loss can be a serious problem, and can undermine the foundation of language development, which experts believe is built during the early months and years of life. If undiagnosed and untreated, pediatric hearing impairment can result in major language development problems, poor academic achievement, and behavioral/social issues.
The Speech and Hearing Center is the first and only provider in the area who can test infants and young babies hearing through Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR) testing, without the use of sedation. We use the Vivosonic Integrity V500, the world's only wireless system for auditory electrophysiological assessment and hearing screening, to obtain ABR data without sedation or anesthesia, thanks to Vivosonic's patented, digital, signal-processing techniques.
Avoiding sedation is imperative clinically and economically. Our patients are not subjected to the associated risks of sedation, while simultaneously saving on health care costs. Patients who have previously not been candidates for sedation, and therefore for ABR, can now be successfully tested and provided the care they need. This is particularly helpful with restless, non-cooperating patients like young children, as well as mentally and/or physically challenged patients. Additionally, the Speech & Hearing Center is able to swiftly schedule patients, which is critical when aspiring toward early identification and preventing the development of speech delays.
