Dean earned his Bachelor of Science in accounting from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and was designated as a Certified Public Accountant in 1992. He’s licensed in both Tennessee and Georgia. He has worked at JHM for nearly three decades, in addition to serving as an accounting manager at a Fortune 100 company for two years prior. He’s served as JHM CPAs’ president since 2013, and oversees all operations of the firm and it’s 45-member staff. His primary focus is building personal, trusted advisor relationships with corporate clients and encouraging others at JHM to do the same. His industry areas include commercial construction, nonprofits, manufacturing and real estate. He’s a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Construction Financial Management Association and serves as the Peer Review Committee Chair of Tennessee Society of CPAs. He’s a past board member of McKamey Animal Center, the Alzheimer’s Association the and UTC Business Advisory Board. He is also the author of various state and federal articles and a past member of CFMA National Publications Committee.
Environmental, Health and Safety Manager, Komatsu America Corp.
Gerald earned his Bachelor of Science in industrial technology from Tennessee Tech University. He has worked for Komatsu, the second largest construction equipment manufacturer in the world, for 33 years. At Komatsu, he’s held many positions, such as production planning coordinator, purchasing coordinator, technical support engineer, warehouse manager and various assembly manager positions. He has been the environmental, health and safety manager for the last 16 years. He’s a member of the American Society of Safety Professionals, the finance team at Brainerd Baptist Church and the Chattanooga Region Sports Car Club of America board.

Melissa has worked at CHI Memorial for more than a decade. She is actively involved in the Junior League of Chattanooga and also serves on Chi Omega’s House Corporation Board, supporting the UTC chapter’s general house operations and capital fundraising and building campaign. She is passionate about servant leadership, program and people development, envisioning, collaboration, operations management and project oversight, strategic planning, and community impact. She lives with her husband, Eric, and labradoodle, Lola, in North Chattanooga. She loves to travel, attend sporting events and concerts, and spend time with our friends and family.
Joey Thomas, NREMT, JD, MPH
Lieutenant, Engine Company 4, Chattanooga Fire Department
Joey earned his Bachelor of Science from The Citadel and his Juris Doctor from the University of Memphis. He also obtained his Master of Public Health from the University of Tennessee. He's been at the Chattanooga Fire Department for the past 10 years. During this time, he also served as a social worker in North Georgia. His interests include harnessing innovative health policy to improve Chattanooga’s healthcare delivery systems through public and private partnerships. He's a current JA Henry YMCA Branch board member. He previously served as a court appointed special advocate for the Hamilton County Juvenile Court and is a graduate of the Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce’s Protégé program. Born and raised in Chattanooga, Joey is married with two dogs. He enjoys road cycling, reading and dogs.

Marsha earned her Bachelor of Science in business management and marketing from Western Carolina University, while playing women’s basketball on scholarship. She’s an experienced banker with a demonstrated history of working in the financial services industry for nearly two decades. She’s highly skilled in portfolio management, commercial and consumer lending, credit analysis and business development, with a proven track record of relationship management and teamwork. Marsha is a member of Chattanooga Women’s Leadership Institute, Chattanooga State Dinner of Firsts, The Canyons board and is the fifth-grade girls’ basketball assistant coach at Chattanooga Christian School.

Matthew earned his Bachelor of Science from Covenant College and his Master of Business Administration from University of Tennessee at Knoxville. As the leader of regional operations for Storypoint Chattanooga, he is involved with strategic marketing and health planning, new acquisitions and construction, and regional healthcare administration. He is also the managing principal of Whitley Capital Holdings, LLC, a residential and commercial real estate trust specializing in leasing and acquisitions. Matthew is involved in the Academy of Long Term Care Leadership & Development, American College of Healthcare Executives and UT Alumni Association.

Bill graduated from the University of Hawaii with a degree in computer science. He has more than 30 years’ experience in management of people, products and process in the managed services/IT leadership space. He’s an accomplished and multi-certified IT professional with track record of success conceptualizing, creating and delivering best-in-class enterprise technology solutions in line with business and clients’ requirements. He was in the U.S. Army from 1983 to 1989 and has a developmental history in retail management. Bill is involved with ISSA and Infragard.
Director of Human Resources, Echelon Fitness
Adam earned his bachelor’s in business and psychology from The Ohio State University and his Master of Business Administration from Georgia Institute of Technology. His first role was opening the Amazon Fulfillment Center in Chattanooga. From there, he supported that operation before moving to Whirlpool in their Cleveland, Tenn. manufacturing plant. He then spent five years in Atlanta as the human resources manager for Paradies Lagardere in the travel retail industry. He is a member of the Young Leadership of Chattanooga, Jewish Federation and the Ohio State Alumni Association.

George earned his Bachelor of Science from Dalton State College. He leads Covenant Logistics’ freight brokerage division. He’s previously held high-level operations positions at various companies and spent 7 years in the Army as a Light Infantry and Electronic Warfare Leader.

Michelle earned her Bachelor of Science in business and accounting from Lee University. She’s also a board-certified Cognitive Specialist through IBCCES. She’s been a certified trainer and director of training at LearningRx since 2010 and moved into the position of executive director in 2012. She’s a member of the National Association of Cognitive Training, the Chattanooga Area Brain Injury Association, Southeast Youth Partners and Tennesseans for Quality Early Education.
Kristi Wick, DNP, FNP-BC, GS-C

Kristi earned her Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from the University of South Florida, her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from ETSU, her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and her Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She is also a certified Geriatric-Specialist. She worked as a registered nurse at CHI, then as a nurse practitioner at Alexian Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly, before moving to private practice at Galen Medical Group. She’s been at UTC’s School of Nursing since 2018. She is the Tennessee Commission on Aging and Disability Southeast Tennessee Representative. She is also a member of the Tennessee COVID-19 Long-Term Care Task Force, the Southeast Tennessee Area Agency on Aging and Disability Advisory Board, the Hamilton County Regional Transportation Planning Committee and the Older Adult Community Workgroup. She also serves on the Regional Health Council for Minorities & Disparities Committee and the Regional Health Council for Senior Health & Aging Committee. She’s a Tennessee Nurses Association District 4 Board Member and serves EngAGING Communities Southeast Tennessee.
Carrie Crowe MSN, RN
Population Health Leader, BKS Partners – Russ Blakely & Associates
Carrie obtained a Bachelor of Science in nursing from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and completed her master’s degree from Vanderbilt School of Nursing, with a focus on health systems management. She joined Russ Blakely & Associates in 2016 as a clinical consultant focusing on population health. There, she works to paint a more complete picture of corporate well-being. She focuses on bridging the gap between specific opportunities for health risk identification and customized wellness strategy and solutions. She also has experience implementing and partnering with onsite clinics. Through the use of predictive analysis, she helps build the foundation to improve corporate health and culture for employers to successfully control health risks. She recently became the population health leader, tasked with building a population health practice out on a national level. Through her experience working in some of our country’s leading hospitals, such as Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital and Mayo Clinic, she has seen firsthand how building a healthy workplace culture is the key to a successful and healthy workforce. She also brings more than a decade of experience in the insurance and pharmacy arena. She’s previously served as a board member on the Mary Ellen Locher Scholarship Foundation.
Rebecca Farinash Love
Associate Attorney, Farinash & Stofan
Rebecca was born and raised in Chattanooga. She attended the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and graduated with a BS in criminal justice. She then graduated from the Dwayne O. Andreas School of Law (Barry University School of Law) in 2020. Rebecca currently practices bankruptcy law at Farinash & Stofan. She’s a member of Gamma Phi Beta International Sorority, where she’s able to support Girls on the Run of East Tennessee. Rebecca serves as the Financial Advisor for the Eta Epsilon Chapter of Gamma Phi Beta at Virginia Tech. She is also a member and supporter of the Tennessee Hemophilia and Bleeding Disorder Foundation. Rebecca lives in Red Bank with her husband, dog and cat.
